AP BIOLOGY-Instructional Units

Instructional units are pedagogically cohesive units of knowledge. The order in which they are taught appear in the panel to the left. In most cases each instrutional unit represents two or more chapters of material from the book. The length of an instructional unit can vary from less than a week to as long as four weeks. The average length of a unit is generally two to three weeks. Student mastery of the material is assessed through a variety of means. Regular announced quizzes are given during each unit. The primary assessment tool is exams; each unit may include one or more exams depending on the amount of material covered.
