Course Information
Physics is a full year course which is based on the Modeling Instruction Program developed at Arizona State University. Modeling Instruction in Physics was recognized in 2001 by the U.S. Department of Education as one of two exemplary programs in K-12 Science Education out of 27 programs evaluated.
From the Modeling Instruction website: "Modeling Instruction in High School Physics is grounded on the thesis that scientific activity is centered on modeling: the construction, validation, and application of conceptual models to understand and organize the physical world. The program uses computers and modeling methods to develop the content and pedagogical knowledge of high school physics teachers" which helps them better teach physics to their students. |
