AP Biology Gang With Dr. Robert Sapolsky

California Academy of Sciences Lecture
Jewish Community Center
San Francisco
March 27, 2006

Dr. Robert Sapolsky, a MacArthur "Genius" Fellow, and John A. and Cynthia Fry Gunn Professor of Biological Sciences and Professor of Neurology and Neurological Sciences at Stanford University, gave a lecture on the "Biology of Individuality." Ranging widely from Drosophila to baboons, Sapolsky explored what makes us unique in the animal kingdom. His stories, recounting of fascinating experiments, anecdotes, and observations were thought provoking, humorous, and enlightening. We began the evening with a dinner at the Rainforest Cafe- a wonderful biological experience surrounded by elephants, gorillas, and other rainforest animals. Everyone went home with a new perspective on what makes us uniquely human. Fourteen AP Biology students attended.
