AP Biology Gang With Craig Venter

Herbst Memorial Theater
San Francisco
January 25, 2005

We were all excited to hear stories from the scientist responsible for accelerating the sequencing of the human genome, finishing the project ahead of time and under budget.  Dr. Venter also talked about his recent research- sailing around the world collecting and sequencing the genomes of microorganisms living in the world’s oceans, as well as his attempt to create artificial life in the lab. All agreed it was a fascinating evening spent with one of the most innovative scientists of our day.
